It also recommends consignment or buyout routes — TheRealReal, Fashionphile, Luxury Garage Sale, Buffalo Exchange, and ThredUp for bulk apparel — when they'd net you more.

No — it generates the complete listing (title, specifics, category, description, price) and you paste it into the platform. You stay in control of every publish. Export to your crosslister and direct posting to eBay (which has an official seller API) are the first two items on the roadmap; most other platforms have no public listing API, and we won't automate against their terms.

Pricing is anchored to sold comps at research time and graded with a confidence level. When the photos aren't enough to be sure — no size tag, no box end, damage you can't judge — the report asks for the one photo that would settle it before it prices. Yes — that's the third door, and for a lot of people it's the only one they ever use. One photo, and Boresight gives you the call with the reason: sell it (and where), fix it and keep it, give it away, donate it, recycle it, or let it go. Tell it your situation once — moving, downsizing, an estate — and the calls fit it. The free trial covers five items and one room scan, so you can put the question to it before you pay anything. If it turns out a few things are worth real money, the selling door is right there.

Boresight is honest about it — and suggests what to do instead. If the piece is good but needs work — a scuffed dresser, a bike with flat tires, a stroller that needs a wash — it shows you what the fix would be, roughly what it costs, and what it'd be worth after: keep it, or sell it as refurbished for more. If it has no resale value but an obvious second use, it says repurpose. Usable but under the floor: donate or give away. Torn textiles and dead electronics: recycle. Stained or soiled: toss. You get an honest answer instead of a listing nobody buys.
